State Utility Regulators Rebuff UC Bid to Join San Onofre Case

The University of California’s bid for a piece of millions of dollars in research funding has been dashed by state utility regulators, who took one week to deny its application to join the proceeding dividing costs of the failed San Onofre power plant.

The California Public Utilities Commission said university officials followed the case for years and could have joined the case anytime.
